donnelly news

Welcome to another addition of the Donnelly news.
Weather news:  It rained off and on most of last week we got about 3-4”of rain over the weekend and it has turned cold this week, we actually had some snow Mon a.m.
St John’s/Kongsvinger news:  There will be joint services at St. John’s on May 24th and at Kong May 31st both at 9 a.m.
On May 17th Taya Jane Lehman was baptized at Kongsvinger.
Our graduates this year are Hannah Jo Larson and Amanda Casselton
Good shepherd news: youth (7th-12th) are invited to a high ropes course, a rocking climbing wall, and zip line at Luther crest –Alex on June 3rd, please register by May 27th
Mitchell Aschman and Lacce Jo Mananum were recognized as our graduates this yr. on May 17th.
Other church news:  New Wine performances begin this month. Dessert Theatre Performances will be at First Lutheran on May 27th, and June 3rd, starting at 6:00 p.m. The last two church performances before the tour will be on, June 14th, at First Lutheran and June 21st at Trinity Lutheran in Cyrus both at 9 a.m. homecoming concert is July 1st at first-Morris at 7 pm
There will be a farewell coffee hour for interim pastor Don Berheim on May 31st at 10 am at first Lutheran. Graduating seniors will also be recognized

Community news A supper and silent auction benefit for Randy Fults of Donnelly will be held today (Saturday) from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at-Faith-Morris. Thrivent Financial will provide supplemental funding. Donations may be made at Dacotah Bank. Randy is home recovering from major heart surgery in Rochester last week. If you would like to volunteer to help or provide food or silent auction items, please contact Karen Uphoff at 246-3533. His parents are Virgil and Theresa Fults
Stevens’ county geological society will meet on June 4th at 1:30 pm at the Morris library
City council and rendsville 4-h will meet on June 1st at 7 pm at city hall and St. John’s.

Celebrations: Tiger track: the girls placed 4th in the state true team meet, Savannah Aanerud finished first in the 800 m run, the girls finished first at the wcc meet at Benson on May 15th the boy s 2nd. Savannah Aanerud and Islande Sperr finished in the top 12 either individually or a member of a relay team, on the boys side john huebner finished in the top 10 in his events.
The tiger sb team won the west central conference north title recently going undefeated in the conference; team members include Sam Henrichs, Becca Holland, and Brooke Gillespie. Brooke threw a new hitter in the opening game of the section playoffs in Morris on May 19th
Jill Loge has been named personal banker at the bremer bank in Morris
Nancy Erdahl received an outstanding factuality award from UMM recently
I had a note form Corrine Larson in my box about the threshing bee parade: the parade committee is looking for “things” that are 50 yrs. old for the parade; trucks, tractors cars etc. as well as those 50 years old, or who been married 50 yrs. or anything else you can think of. Call Lori Sperr 246-3496 or Kaylene Mecklenburg 795-2711 for more info or to register a unit in the parade. “Thank you in advance for helping us have a grand parade” reminder the threshing bee dates are Aug. 29th and 30th and IH is the feature this year as well as anything made in ’65. The next community club mtg is June 8th.

Lois Johnson called me to say something had been stolen from her husband (Ken’s) grave recently and she asked that it be returned ASAP no questions asked
